Best place to get lobster rolls in the area during the summer. Theres always a huge line but it goes fast and its worth it. Definitely recommend just watch out for the sea gulls ;)

Always on the hunt for a lobster roll and Captain Scott's was recommended by a friend. Great location on the docks in New London. The large roll is overflowing with meats and was lite on the mayo and fillings. It was a little overpriced IMO but the portion size almost justified the cost. Outdoor seating both covered and not is a nice add.

I try to review Captain Scott's once per decade. This festive joint doesn't have a single item that I immediately crave as much as the lobster rolls at Lobster Landing or the chowder at Abbott's, but the menu has a pleasing modularity. And it has a unique market niche; in a state where train stations are often many miles from the town bearing their name and from the waterfront, Captain Scott's is the people's seafood shack. It's not a place on Whatever Island that has outhouses, closes at 4 and is 12 miles from a train. New London isn't Newport, but there are boats and water and the region is certainly more appealing than the nauseating dystopia of the New Haven waterfront. With my lobster roll bingo card already checked, I opted for the steamers, which usually are too large for my mix-and-match tendencies. The bivalves were delightfully oceanic as I added different permutations of butter, broth and lemon. Given that my last review was 2014 I'll also mention that I liked my 2022 swordfish special. If soda sommelier was a job I'd recommend pairing steamers and chowder with a Hosmer Mountain Chocolate Cream.

My boyfriend suggested we come here for dinner as he was here years ago and enjoyed it. We came on a Sunday evening. No wait to order and it only took about 10-15 for our food. We sat at a picnic table not under the pavilion. Weather was perfect and the food was great! I had the platter of fried clam strips with fries and cole slaw. My boyfriend ordered a lobster roll, fries and the clam fritters. Everything was fresh and great!! We also were able to watch the sun go down as we ate!

Off the boat and into the pier fresh seafood! You can't beat this place as long as you aren't looking for "fancy". You're outside on the pier, but there is cover with picnic tables. Boiled, fried steamed..... you name it.

Food was delish! It was a beautiful day, so sitting by the water was a MUST! The line was long, but it was so nice out that it didn't even matter. It went by fairly quickly. The fish was heavily coated, making it a heavy meal. Overall, 5 stars! Will definitely be coming back.

Food was good and loved the setting and way of ordering. I'd recommend this place. We got the large hot lobster roll, clam fritters, fish & chips and the chocolate ice cream with chocolate soda. The fritters were a lot of bread so I personally wouldn't order again, my husband said they are like hush puppies. The lobster roll I expected to be bigger since I've had some overflowing on this trip, but I didn't ask how much to expect when ordering. Overall we'd return here given the chance.
